The Highlander
Microsoft and Dell recently partnered up to create a super-cool custom PC in celebration of Microsoft releasing Windows Vista to manufacturing earlier this month. Our own Sean Alexander had a friend on the Windows Team forward on some pictures and information regarding the high end PC. Here are the system specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Processor 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX 4GB RAM Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM @ 667mhz 1Terabyte RAID0 SATA HDDs (2x500MB) 48x Combo + 16x DVD+/-RW Double Layer Burner Dual TV Tuners (Analog) Dell 30" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor Full 5.1 Surround Sound This PC screams -- it has a Windows Experience Index rating of 5.2! vid2man97
Have to agree...Classy lady dressed in a street walker's clothes. Of course, not that I'd say "no thanks" if someone with a white beard and red suit slipped this 'puter down my chimney
REDWAGON
I'll take the 30" widescreen monitor myself !! I think everyone has seen MS's logo way too much by now and I would think that they could have come up with another new special logo for Vista. Frank... Same logo but at least they did get some new sounds for Vista with the help of Robert Fripp. Only the old guys around here will remember King Crimson. Wonder who was it in Redmond that liked that band. Never was found of them meself.
REDWAGON
Never thought of the music part of their operating systems Paul, but at least they came up with some new stuff. I'm sure everyone is getting tired of the old stuff too. Although I never have any of my computers set up for any of that default music anyway, so it probably won't make any difference to me even when I decide to buy Vista. Frank...
