Installation Roxio Easy CD and DVD Burning 2 DVD Drive Issue

Boogaloo Dan

Question

Hi, All,

My HP Slimline Desktop computer runs the Windows 11 operating system which is incompatible with the old Roxio Easy CD Burning app I was using. So, I bought and installed the latest version… and now my computer no longer recognises the internal CD/DVD Drive E. The problem appears to be that the required digital signature to initialise the driver has been lost during the installation. Can anyone advise me?

Hello Sir,

I have seen that problem on a number of machines.   Setting a value in the registry to cause the burner to be properly 'enumerated', solved the problem.   Here's the edit needed:

--------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

;Run if CD/DVD program or Windows fails to see the burner drive

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0]
"EnumDevice1"=dword:00000001

--------------------------------------

You can download the attached .reg file, and double-click on it to set the key into the registry.  Restart Windows and your burner should be recognized.  OR you can make your own file by highlighting the text between the dotted lines and copying it into Notepad, then saving it as xxx.reg  The name doesn't matter, as long as it has the .reg file extension.

Here's the .reg file   enum.reg

Regards, Brendon
