Renamed files in windows but old name still shows in Media Manager

Danno111

Question

I batch renamed a bunch of pictures so they would sort the way I wanted, but in media manager, they still show the old names. I removed theam all and re-added and I see the correct name in the add dialog box, but when they are added the old name appears. The thumbnail shows as a question mark, but when I double click, it opens the correct (renamed) picture.

I even tried to delete the album, but when create a new one and try to bring the pictures back in, they still show the old names. :)

I verified that the names have changed in Windows Exporer.

I'm sure there's a simple explanation, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks for the help.

This info could be found by going to the main support site. In the drop down labeled choose a product select EMC 9. Then click on the Contact Support link and you would get to here.

Yeah, but have you actually tried it? I end up in an endless loop that will never let me send an email to customer support. After going to the address you mention, I click "e-mail support". I am taken to "Web Self Service Log on". After logging on, I'm taken to a screen that gives me three choices.

1) Knowledge base

2) Tutorials

3) Ask Roxanne

5) Paid Support

So I ask Roxanne. "She" doesn't have the answer and loops me back to the "Web Self Service Log on". I click paid support and I'm given an option for live chat at no charge with an icon that says "PHPLive Trial has expired". I follow the link which takes me to PHP Live's web page to sell me online chat hosting software??

To say the least, it's frustrating to figure out how to get support help.

Round and round we go...

I found that if I moved the files to another directory on my hard drive and "re-add" them to my album, the new name appears. It seems like there should be another way, but this work around is not too difficult.

But I must say that getting customer support from Roxio is tough. I went to the website and searched the knowledge base with no luck. So, I tried to reach customer service and I could not find a link to email their technical support team. The only option I could find was to call and pay. As a brand new customer, I would think they would at least give a few free support calls to answer questions not covered in their documentation.

Overall, I've been happy with their product. It seems to do what I'm looking for.
