How to capture directly to DVD

Mike H

Question

I'm using Creator 8. I have a VCR connected through a Dazzle/USB. A few months ago I was able to capture from the VCR and directly burn to DVD. I know that I have done this. I did not import and then burn; I captured and burned in one action.

Now for the life of me I cannot figure out how I did it! I have poked through every menu and option (I believe) of all of the utilities and I can't figure out how to do it. I am so stumped!

I tried Media Import. There I can definitely see the image coming from the VCR. Now how do say "save directly to DVD?"

What you are looking for is Plug and Burn. I don't have V8 loaded but in V9, it is the fourth one down under the Video menu. :)

Unfortunately, that won't work for me. Plug and Burn only works when the source is DV. My VCR is analog coming through the Dazzle. When I try to use Plug and Burn, there is no source available.

When I choose the Capture Video, then I can see the Dazzle, and I can see the picture coming from the VCR. But there is no option to burn/save directly to DVD.

Like I said, I KNOW I have done this, and it was a utility with an interface similar to (if not actually) Capture Video.

Any other guesses?
