.mpg movies put into Media Manager as .mov files

I am using MyDVD Premier 8. I have several .mpg files that play in WM player as well as in real player. In Windows Explorer they show up as Mpeg files. When I use Media Manager to add these files to a journal all but 3 of them are put into the journal as .MOV files and then I can do nothing with them. Can anyone offer any help please?

To use .MOV files you need to have the latest Quiktime player installed.
