Will not capture video on ver. 7.5

robert1048

Question

I have ver. 7.5 of Easy Media Creator. I have been using the program with my digital still and JVC Mini DV video recorder with no problerms up until a week ago. Now it will not capture video from my camera even though it regognizes my camera in the selection panel. It will go to the capture screen and the arrow cursor will change to the hour glass for a few seconds, then change back to the arrow with nothing happening. The capture screen remains blank. I have reinstalled my program 3 times and this has not changed anything. The program will still capture from my still digital camera, but not my video. I have tried it with Windows movie maker and it works fine. I have not been able to find any help in the online information and the tech guy wanted to charge $35 to help. Needlesss to say this will be my last time to purchase any product from Roxio. Any help will be appreciated. :)

This is probably a stupid question, but what changed a week ago? Did Microsoft automatically update Internet Explorer to version 7? IE 7 'breaks' parts of EMC7. Did you install any other programs?

The simplest solution would be just to import the video with Movie Maker as DV AVI. From there it's simple to add the video to the Media Selector (where your video shows up in VideoWave). Just note where Movie Maker is storing the video.

It worked fine at one point and a couple of hours later would not work. I did not change anything that I am aware of such as new programs, etc. Thanks for your reply.
