No Drive Detected message?

jkenny7512

Question

Hello,

I recently upgraded from easy CD Creator 5 to Easy CD creator 9.

I never had a problem with Version 5.

With Version 9 I can not burn any discs. When I try to burn I get a message that says "no drive detected". I get the same info on the Roxio home window under disc information. I know I have a CD/DVD drive and a CD/DVD burner. Like I said...the burner worked fine with creator 5.

Any clue as to what the problem would be and how to correct it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

is your burner seen in windows, like my computer and device manager?

No you don't have the same issue. Jumping on this post will not help!

Yes, my burner is seen on "my computer" and in the device manager. I can play DVD moviesa, listen to audio CD's and play games. The only problem seems to be a compatability problem with Roxio Easy CD Creator 9.

Like I said in the first post, I was able to burn CD's with Version 5 but as soon as I loaded version 9 this problem popped up.

have you tried this ?, even though youi can see your CD/DVD drive there may be a need to install this patch

In addition to my learned collegue; Do you have INCD installed? As I had the same question/problem in an earlier install. Becasue this program will Install always by default and this has always been a problem with the installation process and not being able to NOT have it install. It is not even an option under Custom Install its pushed onto the system usually without you knowing it's there by Default! This logic evades me man; why would you have an application that LOCKS your Ram Drives to itself. I was never able to find away under any options to stop it from doing so. Under earlier versions you could stop it at the startup under msconfig and the problem would go away. That is not true under this version-9 and it makes the whole system a little wierd too doing it that way.

My advise would be to go that tab under Add or Remove programs in your Control Program and select remove INCD. Also, if you have a Registry Mechanic type program run it on the next reboot and reboot again. As my copy works fine on any drive RAM or ROM and I can also play video and music fine with any program I choose.

If someone that works under the system integration group is reading this, please; INCD installation needs to be an option always by default and not an Install by Default.

I have the same issue and none of the persons responding to my complaint helped me I wish someone had Roxio's phone number.

I tried MyDVD it was the one that didn't work.

Video drivers are up to date.

Trying to burn a DVD, it stops and gives me an error report:

Overall progress (100%)

Current task: Completed (100%)

The current output device was removed. Error while Encoding Movie 1

My DVD is left un-recorded

The next time Roxio distroyed my DVD disk.

I am getting so anoyed with this program I am going to take it back for a refund.
