Quick find

friggit

Question

:) Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but would like to ask a question. How do you stop Quick find from loading up everytime I start the program? I don't use it and it takes too long to load my music into it. I have a new Dell with Sonic Digital Media v7. Thanks in advance, friggit.

"How do you stop Quick find from loading up everytime I start the program?"

"QUICK FIND"---what is that. Do you mean "Quick Time" ???

If that's what you are wanting to stop, go to START--RUN--and enter MSCONFIG--ENTER. click on the STARTUP (TAB) and remove the startup of your program.

And I don't understand it when you say "It Loads Every Timer I Start the Program"--Please explain.

You're right.I just don't know the exact process that's running in the Sonic app.We had this question in the V9 forums and stopping the RoxioMediaDB stopped it but I don't belive you'll see that same process running in the Sonic app.

Hi all, It's definitly quick find and it starts up as soon as I start Sonic Digital Media LE V7. It.s on the right side and it's used to find your media files to drag to the left side. I made the mistake of OKing it to find my media files but since I have alot of music it takes about 3 minutes to finish. I have my music in certain folders but it splits and rearranges the songs by album or singer which makesit harder to find anything. It's not in msconfig. Thanks for your input and if anyone else could help I appreciate it, thanks, friggit :)

Frank,Quick Find is like the Sonic version of Media Manager. It loads when you use programs that look for media files. If you look under the Home apps in V9 you'll see it in pane to the right of the window. In V9 you can stop it and MM by going into msconfig and disabling RoxMediaDB9.I'd think you can do the same with the Sonic app by just finding the line in msconfig that correlates to Quick Find.I don't have the Sonic apps so I don't know what that would be specifically but there's a good chance it's there.

Thanks Terry. I have never used either one (Quick Find or Media Manager) so I was in the dark about that. All I was thinking was if what ever it was was loading at startup of the computer it would be shown by executing the msconfig file.
