If you are losing the voice, perhaps you are using too much in the way of clean up. Remember that you'll never get it to sound like it was recorded in a Studio. You just have to live with some background noise.

sknis
bummer, had higher expectations If you cannot get enough of the audio cleaned with Sound Editor, look for a audio editing program. One of my favorites is Gold Wave. They have a trail version. The same thing holds for that program also, the more cleaning you do, the more you will distort what you want to be heard. The programs add filters for certain frequencies so you could be filtering out parts of someone voice.

ggrussell
Have you tried the noise reduction in Videowave 9 yet? It worked fairly well for me.
kelleencalhoun
Have you tried the noise reduction in Videowave 9 yet? It worked fairly well for me. Can you tell me how to do that??? The only thing i have found is 'clean audio' in the edit-native audio
ggrussell
Yes, the audio cleaner will remove noise. But I think you need to define what you consider 'background noise'. The audio cleaner removes stuff like hiss or motor hum quite well. If you are talking about something like restaurant noise with people talking, glasses clinking, etc., then you definitely need a more sophisticated audio software.
