Easy DVDCopy 2 Premier

tuscany

Question

I am having real problems with Easy DVDCopy 2 Premier which I have just purchased as it says it is a simple way of getting non-copy protected DVD movies to PSP.

I am using PSP firmware 2.81. When I copy a DVD Movie to the PSP, it shows the movie but says it cannot play the movie. It copies it across to the PSP with a resolution of 320 x 240, Video at AVC 768 kpps, Audio at AAC 32 kpsp and a sampling frequency of 48,000 khz. I cannot adjust the transfer settings.

Easy DVDCopy 2 Premier does not come with Videowave so I have no other way of converting to MPEG-4.

Could anyone please advise how I can successfully copy a movie to the PSP and get it to play without any trouble.

I raised this as an issue with Roxio TechnicalSupport (Self Service) on 6 Dec 06. They replied on 6 Dec 06 by suggesting I follow the same steps as shown in article ID00007)CR (Created PSP files will not play on PSP).

I replied on 6 Dec 06 to say that option does not exist (in my version of Disc Copier) to convert to MP4 format (rather than PSP). So far, they have failed to reply. I suspect Roxio do not support the latest PSP firmware (I posed this as a question to Roxio Tech Support and they have not replied).

I have given up with Easy DVD Copy 2 Premier. Instead, I went to the Sony PSP site and download their software for a fraction of the price - the software is both simple and easy to use plus the obvious benefit - it actually works !!!!!

I find it unacceptable that a product is advertised as being a 'quick and simple solution' for transferring DVD (non-copy protected) to PSP and then they fail to provide the most basic of product suppoort.

My suggestion to any Forum members would be to obtain a refund where they can.

So the score is:

Roxio 0 - Sony 10

Sorry it took so long to get a response. I know that you don't have VideoWave but the program you do have is essentially disc copier that comes with EMC 8. Did you read and follow these instructions? Search the boards, I read in one post that the program supports the 2.6 firmware; can you roll back to 2.6? Contact Roxio directly if you want to get more detail information on the firmware issue.

What kind of video are you trying to copy? The program will copy DVD-Video Copy (non-CSS encrypted).

Please post your computer specs. Update your video card drivers and make sure you have the latest version of DirectX 9c on your computer.

Thanks for the reply.

Had previously tried article ID 000070CR (Created PSP files will not play on PSP) - but this article was written for EMC 9 and the EMC version with Easy DVDCopy 2 Premier is 8. The version of EMC 8 that I have does not allow a destination output of MPEG-4.

I cannot roll back the PSP firmware to a previous version.

I am trying to copy an ordinary (non-copy protected / non encrypted) DVD produced on a Sony DVD writer from a program copied from a TV.

My PC spec is: AMD 64 3200 processor, 1gb RAM, ASUS K8V-XSE motherboard, Windows XP Home SP2, Graphics NVIDIA GeForce FXS200, Sound SB Audigy 2ZS. All drivers are up to date & I am running Direct X 9.0c.

I have written to Roxio Customer Support to request assistance, but have yet to hear anything.
