Advice with re-installing

scorpio

Question

Hi

I recently uninstalled EMC9 as I had numerous problems with it. I have had some advice from the forum with regard to deleting all the files left behind. I have used CCleaner and it would appear that all the Roxio files have gone. But when I look in regedit I can still see Roxio files and Sonic files. What should I do to get rid of them and do I need to remove them before re-installing EMC9? Also is it advisable to disable my Norton Antivirus programme before re-installing.

Would be grateful for any advice as I am anxious to re-install if possible.

My operating system is:-

Evesham Technology Evolution 1.7 Special 2002

60Gb IDE 5400rpm Hard Disk Drive

256Mb DDR

Direct 2D/3D graphics (On board)

Creative SCS35 speakers

Microsoft Windows XP Home

56k Internal (PCI)

16x DVD drive

16x10x40 DC-RW IDE (Burnproof)

TV Card with Driver

Many thanks

We have a set of instructions that will tell you how to do a clean install of the software and also has a list of the directories and registry entries you need to remove. Refer to the link below for the information.

I had many problems with it. In addition to clean install MAKE SURE to disabe Roxwatch through msconfig. Nasty little program that scans your disk and changes dates on media files. It appears in your tray at start up and should be removed right away - it will cause a lot of hard drive crunching and slow response. As a matter of fact remove all roxio/sonic start-up files.

The other thing that helps if you run services.msc and set all roxio processes to manual.

Do all this before you open any roxio applications. Good luck with it - you will need it
