fgaertn
Hey, I'm having the same problem as Tony. I have a Sony VAIO laptop with a Sony DVD-RW DW-Q58A. I'm running Windows XP. I've removed and added Easy CD &DVD Burning three or four times, run the fixes listed, run my virus protection... everything listed here but nothing will get the program to recognize my DVD-RW drive. It's driving me crazy! Any suggestions for me? Frank
lynn98109
A check on google says you have an EXTERNAL DVD-DL drive. What kind of port are you using to attach that to the computer? Another possibility is that it is simply too new to be recognized by a program that has had no software updates since 2003. Lynn

gi7omy
Strange thing is - it's NOT listed on the Sony website - any result I get says it's a slimline (laptop) OEM drive so it's possible it will need a firmware update from the laptop manufacturer as Sony don't have any info on it at all
