Robert A

My Dell machine died. It came with the Digital Media Plus CD which contains all the Sonic DVD applications. I built a new machine and now I can't install the software. I keep getting an error message stating the my current config does not support any of the products on the CD. How can that be?. I'm running on a 2.4 Ghz CPU with 1GB ram, Sony DVD-RW. Any help will be much appreciated.

It's common for Dell to put protective schema on their software so that it can only be installed on the computer that it was supplied with. You may think that you should have rights to the software since you bought the computer and can do whatever you'd like with it but this isn't really true. The only reason that software was included was because Dell made a deal with the manufacturer of the software and got it for cheap. I'm sure it's all explained in the license agreements you must accept to install.

If you want to install on a different PC you'll have to purchase the software.
