Recording Satellite classical music using CD spin Doctor

I have been recording from the XM satellite radio classical channel for several months to have music on an external hard drive to play back. Each track is 3 hours and 22 minutes. When the track is over and it converts to a waveform, sometimes the waveform is correct and other times it is a solid black line. We have used Spin Doctor a lot for recording from tapes and LPs and this has always gone fine.

I would like about a months worth of music on the hard drive (La Cie). Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have the latest Toast 7 and CD Spin doctor. Using a Mac G4 with OX 10.4.Sometimes it seems as if Spin Doctor is just buggy. The waveform may be fine one day and a blank line the next.

Thank you,
