Never been able to play the files. This happened long before IE7 release, which I still run the IE6.

 

Have you tried the support page for your JVC camcorder? If Windows Explorer cannot read the files, then you have a real problem. It's possible that there is a 'fix' on their website.

Um ... you haven't made the change to I.E. 7, have you? I.E. 7 will obstruct EMC 7, and no doubt a lot of other software, from being able to work.

 

If you have - you need to roll back to I.E. 6. It is NOT a "Critical Update", no matter what Microsoft claims - unless you want to put your Operating Sytem into critical condition :)

If these files cause even Explorer to reboot your computer, your not going to ever have anything from them…

 

Have you ever been able to view those files on your computer? If you've never been able to view them, then the files probably imported incorrectly.

 

There are software programs that will attempt to recover pictures from a hard drive or camera memory.
