QT AC3 component installation problem

I am having trouble utilizing the QT AC3 component. I had issues with no sound being on my burned dvd after i converted it from avi.

 

I have downloaded the QT AC3 component, but i am having a problem trying to utilize it correctly.

 

Any help, please.

Which operating system are you running and are you using a PPC or Intel Mac ? Which AC3 codec did you install ? If you play the AVI with QuickTime, do you get sound ?

 

After installation you should see the component in Library/QuickTime or possibly YourHomeFolder/Library/QuickTime.

There are 2 different components that can be installed. I've posted links to both before in the forum. I suggest trying both and seeing which you prefer.

i am running mac osx off a g4 powerbook 12"

 

i tried installing this codec which was posted in another thread

i try opening it but when i select quick time as the application it doesn't work

 

i can view my avi file in VLC with sound

last night i encoded it and then burned it to dvd, but there was no sound when I played it back

Give this a try: a52codec
