error code 0X80004005

when i create a project and burn it to disc after a while it says that the project is finished with errors. Creator burning error code 0X80004005. I have created project successfully in the past but now a conflict is causing a problem. Can anyone resolve this issue for me?

I`m using EMC 7 BASIC. And IE 6. My DVD drive is a Pioneer DVR-09XL. System is WIN2000. I`m pretty sure my drivers are all up to date. The link to the tech note is for EMC 8. So I`m not sure that would help. What do you think?

I'd suggest that you defragment your hard drive, burn to an 'image file' rather than the DVD and then use Disk Copier to burn the 'image file' to a DVD.

Yes. Usually a program will make a temporary image file when you go to burn a project and will delete the file when the burn is completed.

 

When you separate the encoding to an image file and the actually burning of the DVD, you decrease the chance of errors.

 

Now defragmenting your hard drive and burning with Disk Copier might not eliminate the error, but it jmight help trace down the problem.

Frist, if you're running IE7, remove it as it's not compatible with EMC7. Next, make sure you have the latest burner and video drivers installed. Next, try this tech note and see if that helps.
