Trimming question

Just got my EMC 9 yesterday. Down-loaded some Hi-8 composite video. I copied 3- 5 minute segments which I put all in one production on the story line. If I want to trim part of one of the segments, all it lets me do is define the beginning and end of that segment. What if I want to clip out a small part at the middle? I tried adding a transition to divide up a segment, but again it just asked if I wanted it at the beginning or end. Help please! Thanks

Take time, Read the manual and go through the tutorials.

 

Trim - if you think about the word, it does exactly what it iimplies. TRIM from each end. What you want to do is SPLIT.

 

Transitions can only be applied between two clips or still images. If you want a transition in the middle of a clip, then you must first SPLIT it.
