You'll need to give us more info to help you. What exactly does "it" say and what is it you're trying to do? Post your system specs also.

1) We have a product called Easy CD & DVD Creator 6

2) We have a different product called Easy CD & DVD Burning (in a red box).

3) The included software is actually very similar.

Item one was discontinued years ago and now support has ended (current content will remain in place on the web). Item 2 is still sold as a bargain product and is still supported "

That looks like it's probably an old Combo drive that is suppose to be able to read/write CD discs, and read only some DVD discs.

There is a thread from cdfreaks here about that drive that seems to indicate some have ahd big problems with it over the years.

You could check QSI's website to see if they have any updates for the drive, like firmware.

A Big thanks to everyone. I went to the HP site and downloaded a fix that I found from a guy on a chat forum. Here is what he said:

To anyone with qsi sbw-241 problems

My name is Andrew Jayola, I'm an engineer at LG Electronics and was the one who posted previous threads at various sites under the name daEngineer.

This drive has caused people some considerable headaches due to its lack of out-of-the-box compatibility, but whether your using a sony, hp, or any other drive for that matter, updating the firmware to VH07 is the solution. This firmware update can be found at www.hp.com under support and drivers. Search VH07 or qsi sbw-241 from HP and download and install the firmware, it is guaranteed to work.

This can be done without a floppy drive. Your notebook company (sony, hp) are responsible for supplying you with the correct firmware as it is modified for your specific computer but in this case only HP's firmware works and should be used for any computer you may have.

If you need to contact me by email my address is:

I will reply as soon as I can.

AND IT WORKED::::: I can now burn cd's :) I am very very happy. Again THANKS.

Edited email adddress (altho I suspect google already got it) - Lynn
