vabeachcop
When trying to add video (mpeg files), I get this error "the file you are trying to use cannot be edited, and has not been edited." Any clue why, other programs have no problem with them....
Beerman
Is there any update on this one? I have Sony camcoder. i downloaded .mpeg files from the mini dvd to computer using sony software and trying to burn them on dvd, but roxio just wont add files. keeps complaining about file cannot be edited. this roxio sucks. can they at least give some better messages. i have MyDvd 9. What do you mean by activated? it came with my new HP vista laptop. As you have an OEM version of Roxio, I'm not sure if you have to activate mpeg or not but in the retail version, in order to work with mpeg files in EMC9, the third party part of Roxio requires activation. grandpabruce
No activation needed for HP version of My DVD 9 9at least not on mine). It wasn't needed on my HP version, either. But I dumped it, and installed EMC 10.
dch
It wasn't needed on my HP version, either. But I dumped it, and installed EMC 10. no activation is required since it came with hp laptop. i am so frustrated. when i contact hp they tell me to go to roxio. I download mpeg from my sony camcoder to laptop. i can view it nicely with windows media player. Try to add to roxio project, then i get message saying the file cannot be edited, and has not been added. Why does it want to edit my mpeg file anyways? anyone has any idea? it is something to do with codec or something?

Any clue why, other programs have no problem with them.... Have you activated yet? Seems like you haven't. If you can add other files but not mpeg, that's the problem. If you're having trouble with activation, take a look at the Activation area of the forum for more info.
