Editing Audio Files for Videowave Production

dmargolis

Question

Working on a videowave production, combination of video and photos. Adding some music to the thing, several different songs. Unfortunately, EMC 7 does not have timeline view...or I'm guessing this would be much easier to edit. I have the first song in there fine and dandy. The second song is "stuck" to a section that I want to remove it from.....and I can't seem to "find" it to delete it. Strange, I'm not an expert..but usually do pretty well technically.

Secondly, how do I simply add audio to a particular section of say 5-6 photos within the production? I tried "selecting" the photos and adding audio to them, but it only adds the audio to one photograph. Thanks in advance for your help.

Interesting Bruce. I didn't know that any of Roxio's basic versions that comes with a burner or computer or some other hardware, do NOT have Timeline view. I'll put that in my files for future use.

Frank....

It's pretty disappointing (to put it nicely). I thought I was getting a "one-stop shop" when I bought the burner and software, but I had to do a movie recently in my 5 year old version of Windows Movie Maker because it has timeline. When I called into Roxio....they said (too bad, so sad) I have to buy EMC 9 (for another $70 bucks) to get timeline. The burner and sofware was $100 bucks....and now I have to buy frickin' timeline? No thanks. It's almost as insulting as $35 bucks for a tech support call. I'm done. Thanks for listening.

Your DVD burner manufacturer chose the version of EMC 7 to include with the burner. The usually pick out the least expensive version of the program that will do the job. It's to keep the cost of their product down so that you'll purchase it.

I'd suggest that you email your DVD burner manufacturer and let them know of your complaint.

You bought the burner. The burner manufacturer supplied the software. If you have a bitch, it is with them. Call them for support of the software that they supplied you. THEY are the ones that had Roxio tailor make the software, according to their (burner manufacturere) specifications.

I doubt that once the Roxio techs found out you had a basic version of the software, that they would even try to give you support for it.

I've bought a lot of hardware in the past that had some kind of "basic" but well known named software that came with the hardware. But so far there has not been one software that I haven't just tossed in my collectors bin with the rest of the other software crap. Most of the free software that comes with a piece of hardware isn't worth installing IMHO.

If you don't have Timeline view, you have a Basic version that came with a DVD burner or a computer. My retail versions of EMC all have a Timeline view.

Like Bruce, all my versions are retail and include all functions, like Timeline.

Open Creator Classic, Videowave, or DVD Builder and click help about at the top of the application. Then post the version # it shows.
