Audio Clipping

GOOSEMON

Question

Aloha folks,

I just finsihed familiarizing myself with VideoWave and MyDVD. So, I'm moving onto the audio portion of ROXIO. I am trying to clip a mp3 and save that clip to a seperate file. However, I have yet to find any documentation on how to clip. I've found the clip button, but how do you specify where to clip? Also, where does the clipped segment show up?

On a side not, has anyone used this method to create ringtones for there phones?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Open Sound Editor and add that mp3 file. When you find the place you want to start, simply have the location line at that point and then, press an hold your mouse while you drag that line to the start of the clip, press delete; repeat at the end of the clip.

Yes it can be done depending on your phone and what format your phone uses for ringtones. If you have a phone you can connect to your computer via USB, do so and then explore the memory on the phone to see the ringtone folder. Drag the cut file to that location.

What phone do you have and perhaps I can tell you what format your phone will take as a ringtone.

Hey, thanks for the response. I was trying to clip the other way. I would highlight the portion I would like and then tried to clip. Thanks for the easy correction.

As for my phone, I have a LG VX 8300. I have also purchased a micro sd card to use with my phone. However, I'm not sure what type of ringtone format the phone uses?

Thanks for the help...

Is that the Chocolate? If so, it will take MIDI and mp3 formats. The only way to load the ring tones is through blue tooth or by using something like Roxio/Sonic Xingtone.
