MyDVD v6.1.6 problem with pic slideshow with over 100 pics

Question

I have MyDVD v6.1.6 and I am having a problem with picture slideshows with over 100 pics.

Let me explain:

I am taking old photos and making them into a slide show with music. I have 4 different picture slides shows on the DVD. The number of pics in each slide show are 93, 173, 137, and 78. The problem occurs with the slide shows that have over 100 pics. When the slide show gets to the 100th pic it "skips'. What I mean by this is that the picture goes black and the music stops for about a second (maybe less than a second). Then the music starts back up and the pic comes back and the slideshow continues.

This is happening on the 100th pic for both slide shows with over 100 pics. The problem exists both in preview mode and after I burn the DVD. Is there a specific reason this is happening. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue without splitting up the slide shows so they have under 100 pics?

Please help as I am trying to burn the DVD soon for Christmas. Thank you.

The reason this little hiccup occurs is because of the way the images are placed on the disc. MyDVD attains very high quality images because it creates MPEG stills, meaning that each image is essentially a movie of time length 0. It allows you to create lots of slideshows on a disc that could sum up to be several hours long. This is powerful since if it created slideshows by making a movie out of the slideshow you could only fit about an hour or two on a disc.

DVDs are broken down into cells. 99 titles, 99 cells in a title. Each image is a cell. Once you hit 99 it must change titles. This transfer from one titleset to another sometimes can cause the player to hesitate.

It's a tradeoff. If you don't want the hesitation you can make your movie in Microsoft Movie Maker, export as DV-AVI and then import that into MyDVD. You won't get nearly as many images on a disc but you won't get the hesitation.
