Logical unit communication error

thunderhead

Question

I keep producing drink coasters out of my DVD-R`s when I try to burn a project with Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 Basic DVD Edition (Build 7.1.0.95 ENU) The error message I get is,

F: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 (lOGICAL UNIT COMMUNICATION FAILURE - Hardware error. "[04/08/01])

Is there a fix for my situation?

It is in the cable select mode now. I read that it should be in the master setting. Do you agree? I was able to burn a few projects then it started to give me problems. It is connected via ribbon cable. No warnings in device mgr. Says that the device is working correctly. I`m going to search now for the jumpers settings for my device.

Did EMC7 Basic DVD Edition come with that Pioneer drive? If so, check the Pioneer website for solutions and help.

First is it jumpered correct? Why is it F drive? Look in system tools system information and device manager for any warnings. Is it connected with a 40 pin 80 wire IDE cable? Is it in a USB enclosure?

Did it work right lately and now isn't?
