Empty Directories Get Pruned?

I am having a strange problem with EMC 7. I have searched around for an answer, but I can't seem to find one.

I have a Plextor PX-760A installed in one of my servers for archival purposes. When we finish up a project, we burn a few CDs or DVDs of the project to supplement our other backups.

When I write a project in EMC 7 with Creator Classis, empty directories get pruned out. Since I am using this for archival, I would actually like the empty directories to get created.

Is there an option to create empty directories? I looked high and low, but I don't see an option for this. I don't remember previous versions behaving this way.

Most systems use a 'placeholder' - a dummy file or a 0 byte one to maintain the structure. If you made a file called placeholder.txt with just one space in it, that will be sufficient to keep the directory structure

Backup like nature 'abhors a vacuum' :)
