XML Load failure

Terry

Question

I just upgraded to version 9. I have created a number of projects in MyDVD 8. They open OK in version 9 but if I click save in version 9 that is the end of them. The next time I try to open them I get "Open Project operation failed." "XML Load failure". I have done this with two projects already and now I am reluctant to proceed using my new software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, i just had the same problem this morning. Its happened twice now and for me too and I put in 2 hours making this DVD, now I am pist! What to do? I dont know. Anyone have any ideas?

I created a DVD, burned the DVD, then closed the program down. discovered the DVD didnt play as I thought on my home theater system so I started back R9 and loaded the previous DVD project. I received the following message "Open Project operation failed" "XML load failure.

And your problem is what?

Well - apart from saying you have a problem, you posted to a thread which hasn't been visited from January

Please start a NEW thread, say WHAT probl;em you are having, what steps you take and also your computer specs

Aside from the date, I'm going to assume that the projects were made in an earlier version of the software and then opened in a later version. If that is true, then I'm sorry, the versions are not compatible - even going from EMC 9 to EMC 10 (and vice versa) let alone from EMC 8 to EMC 9 or EMC 10.

If the project doesn't open in the older version (yes, you can have both (EMC 8 and EMC 9 or EMC 10) on your computer if you are running XP). Then you may want to try your back-up of the project (you did that didn't you) or even a system restore to get that project back.
