Does emc 9 have to be activated on line. I have ver 7 and was thinking of upgrading, but I use it in a holiday home only which does not have a phone line let alone an internet connection.

The manual activation process is posted in the 'Activation' section of this forum and can be found here.

I think Paul that it still requires to go online to get the final activation code

Dave - if you're living in the 26 counties, try ringing this number if you need help (it's customer services) and they may be able to help

After re-reading it and not having done it, I do see where you need to connect after getting the code.

Hi Daithí,

long long time since I posted here, will check out that number tomorrow, otherwise would have to bring pc back to internet, (35 miles too much trouble ).

vers 7 still works fine for me,

I suppose - use what you can while away from home and then do the rest when you get back

Some of the features are third party and require separate 'registration' which may cause a problem

phone call to customers services was interesting. he said (as per box) that an internet connection was necessary, but at the same time he knew of two people who installed it without the internet.

I suppose they had to doo without some features.
