Audio format and titling

cballinger

Question

A newbie to Roxio program. Trying to convert some old LP's to CD and am confused about what is the best format when I select the option under the make CD for Home/Car option to let it default to AAC or pick WMA or what for output format. How much of a difference does it make and does this make a difference is whether or not the titles appears or I just see Track 1, Track 2 ,etc. in the display after I spend all the time entering in the information.

Problem two, as you may have guessed is that I painstakingly key in the info for the track name, performer, etc. and have even keyed in part of it and then clicked on the link and let it go to the web site and retrieve the remainder of the info that it has then filled in, click on the check box for the TEXT, etc. as shown in the instructions and yet nothing is displayed.

What is the trick to get the track info to display on a home made CD when played back on a PC like a purchased CD does. Running version 8.05 (just installed the upgrade) but haven't purchased version 9 yet), if version 9 solves this problem then I'll go get that one after christmas is over.

Know my other apps inside and out, but this program is very confusing and it doesn't seem to be able to recognize track breaks on LP's very well either.

Thanks for any ideas, suggestions, etc.

Chuck

Capture the LPs as wav files.

Commercial CDs played on your computer have the names because the program goes to the internet to get the song list.

I don't have the 8.05 version so I don't know if you have the following: If your player will read CD text, you have the option to add CD text to the burned disc. If you name a music cut and then go to the CADB and get the tags, V9 can rename the music with some options regarding name and artist, name and album, etc.

As for track breaks, I think that V7 did it best. V8 and V9 come close but do need a little help placing the break exactly where you want it using Sound Editor.
