VOB files and videowave

slo_byrne

Question

A friend want's me to edit his wedding dvd which is a Video_TS folder, in it are BUP, VOB and IFO files. The VOB files contain the video data that I need to edit. Videowave won't recognize these files, is there some way I can convert them [VOB] to some type of file that Videowave will recognize so I can edit them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hmmm, I tried bringing in a VOB file (115 minute long) to Videowave and I was able to preview it. No idea at this time why you're having the problem. Hopefully, someone stops by to give insight.

Hi all....I'm a newbie here and I'm having the same problem bringing VOB files into Videowave. Hope someone can offer some help with this question. Thanks

Previous versions didn't recognize the VOB extension. Videowave/MyDVD 9 should. HOW are you trying to add the files?

I'm not at home right now so I can't provide any info on the structure of the VOB file at the moment, except to say that my brother took a VHS copy of our old family home movies to a business where he lives and had the VHS tape copied onto a DVD.(the family movies were originally from 8mm movie film).

I'm not at all very tech savy (just learning through "trial and error" this past month since purchasing Easy Media Creator 9 in November). The VOB files are in a TS folder.

I can't remember off top of my head the exact method (since I don't have the software in front of me), but, in Videowave, I attempt to add/import video file, but, when I select on the VOB files, I receive a message indicating the files are not accepted.

I apologize for not being able to provide you all with more info at this time. If the above doesn't provide you with enough info to help me out, I'll post again when I get home so I can provide you with better info. Thanks!
