I'm installing roxio creator 8.2 xe that came with a mad dog 18x triple format. It see's that my primary c: drive does not have enough disk space to install. I change to my D:/ drive that has 10 GB available and won't install. Any ideas?

Contact Mad Dog. It sounds like you need to get some bigger hard drives, especially if you are going to do any video editing work.

Most programs, including EMC need to install some parts on the primary (C:) drive

What I'd suggest you do is free up some space on the main OS drive

1: go to 'My Documents', right click and go to Properties - change that from C:\ to D:\. This will move that folder and all contents to D:

2: Go to control panel, system, advanced and click 'Environment Variables' Change the settings for both TEMP and TMP to D:\Temp (don't forget to make a Temp folder on D)

Both those should free up space on the main drive

Also, if your system actually has two drives (as opposed to one drive being partitioned) change the pagefile in the advanced settings to D: (it doesn't work too well on a partitioned drive)

After gi7omy, excellent advice on moving files from one drive to another. When all is said and done your borrowing from Peter to pay Paul. You need more drives or larger drives. You need drive overhead to do video work, when your done with this exercise you still will have none!
