DVD/CD-RW compatibility EMC 8 vs 9

rrwinterstein

Question

Am I'm missing somethine here? I upgraded from EMD 8 to 9 and all of my CD-RW and DVD-RW that were burned with EMC 8 show up as ZERO Free Space.

I found if I copy to the hard drive, quick format and then copy back to the RW disk, every thing is OK.

This is a very time cosuming process.

Any known work arounds or settings??

TIA

Bob W

Quite frankly, I’m furious over this issue. To sell a software package that is not backward compatible, for one of their basic functions, show me that once again, Roxio marketing has no regard for its customers.

I have over 20 dvd-rw, which are partially filled with photos and videos that I have taken. (That’s really 40, because the are all backed-up.) I am now faced with transferring back to the hard drive, reformatting the dvd’s and copying the data back. Just what I need to fill my evenings.

I happy to say that this problem will occur with Roxio software in the future. I will never purchase any upgrade from them again.

Backward compatibility? You mean like MS-DOS and Win3x programs that won't run on W2K?

If you are keeping archives by using any packet writer, you are on the short track to total failure!

V9 is aimed a current operating systems (XP) and future operating systems (Vista). Trying to support end-of-life products is simply dragging an anchor on the good ship progress.
