Question

hello everyone. Recently I upgraded to version 9 of programme. I was running version 6. Today I went to use d2d and it would only copy one file onto a new CD-r Bennett told me that this was full or the files were corrupted. I tried different files, but it would not let me copy. Any suggestions on the best way of doing this in the past I have used this for backing up my labels. I have two disks as I keep one copy here and keep another copy with all my backups on my DVDs that I make it as I said. I was only able to copy one file to a new disc when I try to copy the folder it copied a blank folder only the folder is the one called my pictures, and I want to copy the contents of this. To restore up to a new computer system. The computer that I am using and will be using heather enough to power to do everything.

Uninstall Drag to Disc, and use Creator Classic to back up your important data. If you really want to use it, uninstall the Version 6 packet writer.

Spell Checker running amok?

I ran some testing last week with D2D consisting of 4,000+ files written 3 times to a DVD-RW. Wrote and erased the test set 48 times. Ran a similar test on CD-RW same results.

D2D works!

However it is a Packet Writer and like all packet writers they are considered the least reliable form of burning ever devised.

They should never be used for any form of backup or archive.

Thank you for your help, and I have discovered that seems to be closing the discs off and making them readable only. I have had another look, and that will not even let me format. A CD using the other program you suggested, will I be able to add individual files to a folder from my last experience with that program at more backs up the computer than anything than letting you copy individual files. Thanks again

Unless english is your second language or you have some visual handicap, I would suggest you spend some time trying to get at least some of your spelling and grammar in a readable form. Some of us are having difficulty completely understanding what you are trying to say. None of us expect perfect spelling/grammar :)

Using Creator Classic, you DON'T format a disc. You take it off the spindle, put it in your burner, and burn your data. It is the most stable way of backing up data, to a disc/disk, that there is.

When you use a program that makes you format the disc to burn data, you are begging trouble.

You can add files to a previously burned CD or DVD, if on your orignal burn, you uncheck the read only disc box in the advanced burn options.
