hankmc
I have not tried to update my version of Roxio since I bought this computer last April 2006. My installed version of Roxio is listed as simply Roxio Creator Plus, this is also the label on the Dell provided disc. No further identification as to what issue, model or anything that conforms to the available updates listed here. I have just purchased a Sony model DRX-830U DVD, CD burner using Nero and I have already learned of the incompatibility between the drag and drop feature in Nero and Roxio. I would like to update the Roxio before I go too much further but as stated I cannot find what software I am presently running. Thank you, I would appreciate any help. The Plus version is the Dell version and unless they have an update on the Dell site, you can't update it from the Roxio site. You should be able to open up one of the Roxio programs, go to the Help menu and look for 'About' which should give you the version info.
lynn98109
When an OEM (Origina Eqpt Mfgr) buys the rights to use the OEM Version (and make whatever modifications they choose to in said program) they also accept the responsibility of supporting the program. So, contact Dell. Lynn
hankmc
Thanks for the responses. Going to Help in a Roxio program does not give me any info on versions etc. It seems I have a conflict between Roxio and Nero which has been removed leaving only Roxio. I bought the DVD burner mainly to be able to make larger than CD capacity copies of photo files. If I can get one of these programs to work I will not consider it a waste of time and money. Continuing the attempt. Thanks again.

What version number does it list?

Not that I believe everything I am told by a salesperson but I thought Nero was considered to be a decent software for my needs and figured the extra expense was worth it. I could paper the wall with Nero OEM versions that I got with burners for customers

Patty, is correct "Usually the only conflict between Nero and Roxio is the packet writing software" I have ran Nero 7 Ultra with Roxio EMC 7.5, 8 Deluxe, and 9 Trail with no conflict! I have neither D2D or InCD installed. Under Smart Start applications do you list Nero Burning Rom? If so you probably have a full version! cd
hankmc
I removed both programs and did not reinstall D2D in Roxio. Everything in Nero is working well and I finally was able to make a 2GB+ backup of my photos and some other items I would like to preserve in the event of a hard drive failure. On reloading Nero I found some very usefull items for editing photos and being I did a custom load I have a better understanding of the features. I thank you for your help.
