Converting Media Center TV Show

I have used Media Center to record several cartoon shows that I want to create either a DVD's or a file to play on a PSP for my son when we are traveling. Roxio Creater 9 says the file needs to be converted to an editable file, then starts converting, then says VideoWave 9 has encountered a problem and closes. Did it for both files I have recorded. This is one of the primary reasons for buying this software, otherwise I don't really need all the other things. What can I check to see if this is possible?

It's very important to firstly update the video card drivers to the latest ones from the maker's website. If you aren't sure what make of card you have, right click anywhere on an empty desktop and go to 'Properties'. On the settings tab you will see the make and model

 

Secondly, update the DirectX from Microsoft to the latest (December) version
