Rolling picture?

bigslim

Question

When I burn a DVD I get a rolling picture on it's playback on any player other than the computer that burned it. Everything else is fine on the computer except this.

What could be causing my computer to do this? I have never had a problem until recently. Now it looks like my horizontal hold is not working. Please help. Thank you.

What program do you use to view your dvd? How does it play on a stand alone dvd player?

I use InerVideo Media Player and Windows Mdeia Player on my computer. It works fine on my computer. It only happens when I put in a stand alone DVD. I get a rolling picture on the stand alone units.

I'm not sure where you are, but rolling pictures (frame btw and not line) could be caused if you encoded to the wrong standard

"NTSC" uses 30 fps and "PAL" uses 25 fps

I use NTSC. It worked fine for two years. Now all of a sudden it started to get rolling pictures. It is only on units that are stand alone DVD players.

All other dvd's play fine in this stand alone player? Maybe try another brand of media. If the player is old, it might be dirty of the optics could be going bad....that's a hard one to tell. Is there another stand alone player you can try these in to see how it plays?

I have tried it in three different DVD players. No luck. Still rolls.
