The Control-R trick doesn't seem to work.

The add new unlinked button is also grayed out!

I tried to upload the patch but that is incompatible with the version I've got.

What can I do now?

Please help.

Thanks for the info - but how do I get hold of these options.

I really would like a 'play all' and the ability to add custom gifs to my thumbnails.

Regards Daniel

If you do not apply the downloaded update you can create an unlinked button and hit "Control-R" on the keyboard, the settings that are greyed out pop up.

The update is for the retail version of EMC 8. There is no list of what it fixes. You can get to it by following this link: http://www.roxio.com/en/support/emc8/softw...updatesv8.jhtml

This is the text from their update page:

Update Easy Media Creator 8 Suite December 5, 2005

Update the Retail (CD-ROM) English version of Easy Media Creator 8.0 Suite (Build 800B85C) to 8.05 (Build 805B30B). To verify the version you are currently running, you may launch an EMC 8 Suite application such as Creator Classic and click on HELP-->ABOUT.

Important Note: This updater is intended for CD-ROM purchases acquired from a retail vendor only. Do not apply this update if you have downloaded your version of Easy Media Creator 8.

EMC80_805_Update.exe - 114.0 MB download

Excuse my ignorance - but what is the downloaded update.

How do I get this?

Would this update mean that the settings would not be grayed out?

Thanks once again.

It is my understanding if you apply this update (above) our access to the greyed out "settings" is no longer available. Did you try the "control-R" and did it work for you? My guess is it will be available later on for a small fee, so if everything works for you now I don't know what exactly the benefits are if you update.

What's this?!! I'm sorry, but for the ammount of Mney I spent on this software (version 6 and 7 included!) I should be able to use any #$^@ function and option I want in creating a DVD. the diffrence between version 6 to 7 was GREAT! the only problem was that there was no support for DL DVD's until 7.5 which was a NIGHTMARE. Version 8 has MANY improvements, but it is also limited. WTF?! All I want to do is turn off the stupid Button Animations!

ARGH! :)

I guess there might be other bug fixes.

Are you saying that if I update I won't have the 'settings' functionality at all and therfore it's better just to use the ctrl R trick? That's a bit odd.

If you update (according to what I've been told) you will no longer be able to access the "settings" by "control-r" or any other means.

I want to change the properties of a menu thumbnail.

I click on the menu which is then highlighted.

I then go to the view menu but settings is gayed out - what am I doing wrong.

Thanks in advance

Daniel
