After Render No Burn

Drunknmonk

Question

Hi all I am trying to burn a project through MyDVD8 and everytime it renders it says everything is done but then never burns it to the DVD. I have applied the hotfix. I have tried creating the ISO then burning to DVD which works but no DVD menu is created with in the ISO and all I get is a video that works. Im running a P4 2.54 ghz, 256 vid card, 1 gig ram and a Memorex Dual Layer burner. It is a large video (around 13 gig uncompressed video) and takes a long time to render and I am getting very frustrated.

I am not getting any errors it just says it is done but nothing is on the DVD afterwards. The menu has 23 items and I did move around the links so it fit my purposes and I changed the size of the initial window and music. I have tried leaving out my new music but still did not work. I am in dire need of help on this one as I want to give it to my family tomorrow (Sat the 30th). Thanks!

A little more about what I am doing maybe that will help. I am creating family photo album from aprox. 2500 photos. There are 23 chapters and 7 menus (1 main and 6 sub). I did each chapter serperatly and rendered each one into a movie format. I then took those files and created one long movie. Added chapters at this point and that is where I am at now.

I have tried:

-Disabling the Roxio file at start up

-Software/Hardware render for both an ISO and straight to Disk

-Turned off all programs, including Anti-Virus

-Turned off firewall

-Have 20 gig for the Temp folder HD

-Have 40 gig for the other temp directories and for the ISO to create on another HD (Both HD's on same computer)

-Tried the above after creating a new user name with admin rights

-Fresh install of program

-Hotfix for menu

-No buttons overlapped (checked by highlighting all and making sure red square did not overlap)

-No buttons or words went into the TV safe area

-Compresion settings on custom and on best fit

But still after all of that if I go the ISO route no menu creates or if I burn straight to Disk after it is done rendering (yes it says it renders the menus items) it never burns the disk. And to top it all off the first time I burned it worked (without the Menu Hotfix!) then I had to fix a couple of typos on the menu and then no work.

This is very frustrating as it takes aprox 6 hours per render attempt. So any other suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

How long in time is your slideshow? With 2500 pics you cannot have much viewing time per slide if you consider that a DVD will hold only 60 minutes of video per 4.7GB DVD.

For the most part 4 seconds. There is some audio as well. Total run time is 2 hours 40 min odd some and I am using Dual Layer. Uncompressed it runs around 13 gig if I recall right.

Try switching to Software rendering and then burn to an .ISO file to see if you get your menus. The only thing you won't get is 3-D transitions, if you have any in your production.

Thanks Grandpa, ill give it a shot. It just seems wierd since the first time I burned it was happy, then I had to change some stuff in the production and it gives me grief. Oh my OS is XP Pro and the machine is networked if it makes any difference :)

As long as the software is running, you should not have a problem unless you are try to use the software from one of the other computers on your network.

I have no idea why Software render works when Hardware render does not work, even when the video card is good to go for Hardware render. I have that problem with my video card in EMC 9.
