V9 Sound Editor Reverse Feature?

TonyC

Question

In version 7, the sound editor had a feature where you can playback the recording in reverse (so my son tells me). He said he can not find that effect/feature in v9. This is a very common effect and curious as to way that was not included in v9 effects. Or is it and it hiding somewhere else???

Thanks,

Tony

Hi grandpabruce:

My son who is a teen used the v7 sound editor a lot and first thing he asked me, where is the reverse effect in v9? I'm not familar with that component and thought I would ask anyway. It seems to be popular with the teens I guess, hearing words pronouned in reverse. I primarily use Roxio to burn data disks for archiving.

Thanks,

Tony

Ask him how he did it in Version 7. I would like to try it.

I asked him and since v7 has been un-installed he's not sure exactly where except that he thinks it's in the options area.

He thinks its in the "options area" does not tell us anything.

There is no "reverse audio" anywhere in EMC 7 that I could see. Perhaps someone from Roxio can give us a definite answer if that feature ever existed.

Well, he could be mistaken and it could be in another application we have? As I mentioned before I'm not familar with the Sound Editor and was just asking on his part. But, hearing words in reverse is a good effect, that if it never was included would be nice to have come to think of it.

I did...

I think we all agree that V9 does not have a reverse sound function.

Is it possible that he was playing around with Gold Wave? There is a trial version available with lienent trial restrictions. That program does have a reverse (quote)

"ReverseThis command reverses the selection so that it plays backward. Now you have an easy way to capture all those "satanic verses" or reverse speech messages. You can play a sound backwards by using the rewind button on the Control window as well. "

I guess they have a sense of humor  or do they? :)

I have used Sound Editor extensively, in every version of the EMC suites, starting with EMC 7, and I never heard or saw the ability to play a clip backwards. That does not mean it isn't there. I just never cared to look for that ability.
