Trouble with CD Converter

Dacar92

Question

Hello everyone, another n00b here with a question I could possibly search for, but I have no idea what search criteria to use. When I try to rip a CD, the CD Converter component album title and song list will "default" back to a different disc.

For example: I ripped The Fray's album titled "How to Save a Life". It seemed to rip well. Then I ripped the James Blunt album titled "Back to Bedlam". It also ripped well, but when I checked the folders, it created a folder heirarchy that included the folders I created for The Fray. I deleted them completely and tried to rip again. But now, the component will not change the song titles automatically. It remains on the song list for The Fray's album. No matter what CD I place in the drive, it comes up with The Frays album title and song list. It also "defaults" to a convoluted folder heirarchy, including the folders I created for The Fray and James Blunt. I allow it to check the internet but this changes nothing.

Another strange occurance was that it asked me to register the software AFTER I had already used the video editing component. It had told me that the software will not work properly until I registered it. I really have no problem registering a software title I purchased and know I will enjoy, but I found that to be odd, that I would be asked to register after using the software for a few days.

A third oddity is that my Music Match Jukebox spoftware seems to be disabled. Do these two programs not get along? Do they conflict?

Do I need to reinstall?

Thanks for help in advance!

Instead of using that converter, use "Media Import" from the Home menu tab (right side). I tried using that Converter and could not change the destination. With Import, select the audio tab and then the location of the CD that you want to put on your computer, select the cuts and the format (use wav for best results) browse and add a new folder where you want to put the music. I'm sure you'll find this better.

That registration is for the mpg2 codec that Roxio has to pay royalties based on the number of users. I think that the later registration was just in case someone bought the software and then returned it after using it once or twice. Roxio would not have to pay for those users.

I can't help you with the Music Match Jukebox but I don't remember anyone else complaining.

Thanks, the Media Import component works wonderfully. It looks like I won't be needing Music Match Jukebox anymore. :)
