Video Capture only works in Plug and Burn!?

dubbldee007

Question

I use ROXIO 9 - Complete suite-

The only way my Panasonic DV Cam is not only recognized, but utilized successfully for vid capture, is thru the "Plug and Burn" feature.

As many know, all other DVD creative features use the preselect 'Media Import' for vid capture, and during any "Media Import" use, the pull down window actually has my Panasonic DVcam. I highlight the PanasonicDV, click on it , and wham-o, default "select device or source to import from" jumps right back into the window every time!!!

I cannot pull my Panasonic into the window in Media Import!!!?????

As I mentioned b4, Plug and Burn recognizes my Panasonic immediately and proceeds as normal and burns successfully.

I have verified PanasonicDVCam is listed in Device manager Imaging Devices, and my OHCI Texas IEEE drivers seeme to be current. 5.1.2535

Very frustrating. Recognized and used without problems in Plug and Burn, but not Media Import, she's a no-go.

I believe this is a good one for youz gurus.

(FYI ---I've been DV editing for 4 years and cannot figure this one out.)

Any Ideas????

I wish I had an instant answer for you, but I do not…

One simple test you could try is to open Windows Movie Maker and see if it will capture using that program. – This is just a test to see if it can capture.

Let us know the results of that.

James how do I convert WMM captured files to be used in MyDVD...currently I am unable to transfer into that program without the error message regarding corruption or incompatible file type.

WMM captures Panasonic no problem. I'd hate to have to resort to transferring from that every time.

Now that I think of it, Media Import did capture my Panasonic at one time during a few movie editing attempts. I cannot think of what I may have done to my system since then tho.

James, Ive captured successfully into WMM. However, I cannot remember how to convert that saved file in order to transfer successfully into MyDVD, Videowave.

Do you know?
