Quicktime Chapters Revisited

Question

Hi there,

The other day I asked about if Toast recognized Quicktime chapter markers. After some self experimentation, I concluded that Toast did not. But, happily, it is not so. Toast absolutely recognizes these markers.

Here is my source of my confusion: Toast is supposed to set up a slideshow menu with thumbnails for quick access to chapters (this is according to the menu styles design guide) but it does not. The only way I found out that the chapters were set up in my latest tests was by using the chapter advance button. The Quicktime chapters will show up if the DVD Chapters selection in Toast is set up either on "Automatic" or "None," but, according to the menu styles design guide, the slideshow menu will only be set up if you choose "Automatic," or if you use the time options they provide. Neither of those options gives you (me) a menu.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is there a way to set up the slideshow sub-menu for the chapters? I'm so close in accomplishing what I want to do, yet I'm miles away.

If you want to learn how to set up Quicktime chapter markers, go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/chaptertracks.html . You will need the latest version of Quicktime Pro.

Thanks in advance

Well, guys, I feel friggin' stoopid. If you click on the "More" button in the Format section of the disc options pull out, there's a check box that says "Include Scene Menus for Video." Where's the brick wall for me to whack my head against.

Well, at least I figured out a good way to add chapter tracks. That's gotta be useful to a lot of people.

Happy New Yeay!
