jayman98
I bought a Dell Inspiron 6000 with the following drive: (from the packing list) Combo/DVD+RW Drives 24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive with Sonic RecordNow 24COMBO [313-2570] Video Card Integrated Intel® Media Accelerator 900 Graphics INTVID [320-4233] On the door of the drive it says DVD ROM. To me that means Read only Memory. Can it also write to a DVD disc ? I can plan movies and music CDs without a problem. The Windows XP System Manager says it is a SONY CDRW/DVD CRX830E I am trying to create a DVD disk using Roxio Creator 9 and it tells me the disk I have in there is incompatible. It does not recognize the DVD+R or DVD-R disc I put in the drive. Please tell me if the drive I have can write video files to a DVD disc. Does anyone know ? I have already updated the firmware from the Dell site. Thanks in advance Jayman

Did you get a second DVD/CD drive with that computer?

gi7omy
The drives you have are DVD read only and CD writer with read only DVD so you won't be able to write to DVD Also, the Intel chipset in the machine will, in all probability, be unable to handle Direct3D You would need to replace one of the drives with a DVD-/+RW and also replace the graphics with an ATI or nVidia card
