skips & de-pixelating in DVD-Video

JESRotunno

Question

I have a new iMac G5 Intel and use Toast 7.1.2 to burn DVD-R & DVD-RW discs from shows/home movies from VHS using EyeTV 2.3.2.

The problem I am having is Toast consistently skips & de-pixelates the recordings in random spots when I play the DVD on any player (i.g., iMac, compact DVD player, regular DVD player). When the show/shows are played in EyeTV 2.3.2, there are no skips or de-pixelating.

Help! I'm going through a lot of blank discs trying to solve the problem.

Thanks...and Happy New Year!

I have a similar problem, but it seems that the skips happen a second or two after there was a chunk edited out (i.e. commercials) in the orginal recording. I didn't have this problem with Toast 6.

What application are you using for editing? If it is a MPEG 2 source file and you are using MPEG Streamclip are you editing only on key frames?
