I've had a Roxio Easy CD Creator (5.x.x) version installed for years. Today, while trying to burn a series of disks, it "hung" at the end of the first CD. I killed it (w Task Manager) -- probably a mistake.
Now if I run the program, it gives me the "Roxio Product Activation" screen (but for Version 7). If I click "Next" it shows the screen with the CD-key, but if I click Next again I get the message that the "... CD key has been disabled".
So it looks like I'm completely stuck ... and no, I have no idea where the original CD is! This is one of those cases that I burn a couple of data CDs about once a year, so I don't want to re-install, upgrade, or anything else.
Is there any way around this? I'm about to start poking around in the Registry, but could use some hints.
I have a similar problem but with a twist ....

On further examination, I guess that I did originally have V 7 installed.
