Sandy32
When installing Easy Media Creator 9 on Toshiba Qosmio F25 received message that an existing program (Sonic DLA) was incompatible and asked if I wanted to uninstall. I did, but the result was a total system crash and after many efforts to restore I backed up and reformatted hard drive (I know this seems extreme but my tech support folks at University had thrown up their hands). I just now tried to install Creator 9 and received the same exact message. Does anyone know of a similar problem. I don't need Sonic but I am nervous about uninstalling it and having the same thing happen again. I should note that there were no pre-existing problems with the Toshiba until I tried to install Creator 9. I did have Creator 6 on the machine the first time but that is lost given the reformatting. By the way, I had to reformat in order to reinstall the XP Media Center software as that is how Toshiba has things set up. Any suggestions would be very welcome. DLA clashes with Drag to Disc and you should manually uninstall it before installing EMC9 which should be no problem. As Drag to Disc is force installed with EMC9, if you don't want it, after installation, you can remove it thru the control panel as it's listed as a separate program there. There's nothing in the preinstalled Sonic software that you should need that you can't do with EMC9.

I did, but the result was a total system crash and after many efforts to restore I backed

the same exact message. Does anyone know of a similar problem. I don't need Sonic
