ggrussell
Why put a product out there that does not work? When I import a video I double click on the video to edit it and that is when it locks up. Any help?EMC 9 works for most users. You appear to have system problems or your computer doesn't meet minimum requirements. Sonic/Roxio offers a 30 day refund if you can't get it working properly. arcarocket
Right click My Computer, select properties, (then hardware, if in XP), Device Manager. Find the Display adapters icon, click on the + alongside to expand it and you should see it listed. cd I have the same exact problem. I have used Roxio 6.X forever and just upgraded to 9.X. When I open MyDVD it says it will check my Video Card Profile and then comes back saying failed and won't let me into MyDVD. I have Windows XP Home, 2.6ghz, Nvida Geforce 6600 with 256mb on the video card. Also have 2 GB ram in computer. Anyone know a fix to this? arcarocket
Did you ever update the drivers for your video card? List your system specs similar to how I have mine in my signature. Yes, updated drivers from Nvidia last night. Got MyDVD working, but when I import a video it then locks up and closed MyDVD down. I have a 2.8 Pentium 4 CPU, 2 GB Ram, GeForce 6600 with new drivers by Nvidia, XP Home SP2... What other info you need? Roxio 7.x works just fine, probably shouldn't have tried to upgrade... Seems to be to many bugs.
arcarocket
Update the drivers for your video card. I restarted my computer and it worked, didn't change a thing ... lol Oh well, anyways I got another problem. When in MyDVD I try to put any kind of video file (.mpeg or .avi or .wmp) and it says file format invalid. When I close MyDVD it says something about I might need to upgrade to Divx 9.0. Well i went to microsoft and already upgraded to 9.0 end-user. Also went to divx.com and got there 6.4 whatever it is... Any help? How do I check to make sure I got the newest and divx 9.0, is there anyway to check?
gi7omy
Go here, download and install the Dece, ber 2006 DirectX (it's clearly marked with the link) http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx
ggrussell
Seems to be to many bugs.Couldn't prove that by me. EVERYTHING in EMC 9 runs flawless for me. In fact, I use Videowave and MyDVD almost daily. You can't compare V7 to this one. Completely different applications especially how EMC 9 uses the video subsystem. Where didyou get the video file? Corrupt files are common if you downloaded it from the net.

ggrussell
Also went to divx.com and got there 6.4 whatever it is...Hopefully you didn't install that. LOL EMC9 installs DivX 6.1 and some users have posted problems installing the newer version(s) on top of that. Someone did post a work-around solution for that. arcarocket
This software seems to be a waste. Now in MyDVD it keeps locking up and won't let me edit the video without coming with error message making me shut down. What a waste of $99, anyway to get refunds? I reinstalled roxio 7.0 and works just fine. Why put a product out there that does not work? When I import a video I double click on the video to edit it and that is when it locks up. Any help?
