No Closed Captions - converting from MS-DVR to MPEG

Steven M

Question

Why is your software not keep closed caption information from MS-DVR to MPEG? MCE is working fine with Closed Caption. When I recorded broadcast TV programs on MCE, I am able to watch closed captions on my computer. Then your softare stripped it off during the burning process. Please correct your software to have an option to retain closed captions in any burning process. There are about 10 percent of population who had some hearing loss (Deaf and Hard of Hearing).

Thank you.

This isn't so much a software problem as a DVD standard issue. Closed captioning on DVDs is done totally different. As far as I know, ALL VIDEO EDITORs will strip the broadcast closed captioning lines when rendered to MPEG. I would image it has someting to do with the compression technology which would completely garbble the text.
