Picture and Sound not synced

I have two issues hopefully I can get some help with:

 

A. I made a DVD using using EMC 7 Retail of our family Christmas video shot with my camcorder. I edited a few scenes and when I finailzed the dvd, the sound ( talking) is out of sync with the picture. I want to go back and remake the dvd with the sound synced up. How do I sync the sound and edited video?

 

2. At the end of the video portion of the DVD, I added our Christmas pictures before I burned it. I would like to go back and add some Christmas music to the pictures as they are being presented, but I can't figure out how to add the audio to just the scenes with the pictures in it, not the scend with the video that has voices. How can I add audio to just the picture scenes?

I solve the sync problem by splitting the video every 4-6 minutes or so at an appropriate place. That seems to realign the audio and video and the segments play seamlessly.
