Trouble Intalling Creator 8.2

Gizmo

Question

Hey everyone

I just got a Mad Dog DVD burner. My computer recognizes it, but I can't install the Roxio Creator 8.2 XE disc that came with the burner. The Install Wizard runs almost all the way through, but then my computer freezes. Can anyone help? If you need anymore information from me, just let me know.

Thanks

Gizmo,

Best wishes to you. I purchased mine one week ago and am unable to create a project. It hangs every time, pops up with frequent error messages and I can't seem to get any help from Mad Dog or Roxio. I'm thinking of contacting Circuit City to return it and buy another brand.

LindaB Please don't post the same information in several places but do post complete information in one post. Are the problems you listed in the other post with the MAD Dog supplied software or did you buy either MyDVD or EMC 8 and that is the problem you are having? This poster can't install; are you having the same problem? One thread on one subject at a time please.

Gizmo, Make sure your computer meets the minimum specs for this product. The program requires a good, up to date video card/chip in order to run properly. As I suggested to LindaB, there is a trial version of EMC 9 elsewhere on these boards. You should be able to install that and check out your computer. It will diagnose your video card/chip. If you can't install that; you have a hardware problem. If it installs and runs -- creates a short slide show in VideoWave - you can uninstall it and again try to install the LE that you got. Using the information below.

To both of you, if installation is a problem sometimes the disc has a bit of glue on an edge. COPY the disc to your hard drive and try to install it from there. Make sure that you are not connected to the internet and that you have run your anti-virus and anti-malware, defrag your hard drive. Reboot your computer and then shut down the anti-virus and anti-malware. Now do the install. Please come back to let us know if this helped.

I was able to install Creato 8.2 but nothing related to the maddog dvd will run - all the programs crash.

What should I do?

PUNT :D It is your computer !

Seriously, you'll have to explain what you mean in a little more detail and post your computer specs. Is the problem that the burner won't run or Creator won't run or no burning program will run; not even Windows, copy to CD?. What OS are you using? So far you have said it won't start. You didn't even say what won't start - computer, burner, program, car, vacuum? :D

Start a new thread since you have a different problem than the other two posters. Don't hijack this thread. If you are asking for help, take a little more time discussing your problems. If you expect to have people read the post, think about the possibilities, formulate and answer, and post it - an exercise that takes some time; then you should be willing to take some time to write a complete question with some of the important facts, Sorry if I offended you. :)
