Using MyDvd 8 And Express

In MYDVD EXPRESS,I was trying to make a dvd from some tv shows created by Beyond tv 3. They are in mpeg 2. When I go to try to burn, it starts to encode the video and gets to 5% and stalls. I then must close the application and try again, but to no avail. I tried to edit the video and use MYDVD 8 and it does not even begin the encoding process. There are no errors whatsoever. I also did an uninstall(complete) and updated my firmware. System details are:

 

AMD Athalon 64 3200 2gh. Proccessor

1Gig ram

Radeon x1300 Video Card 256 mb

Windows xp Professional SP2

Sony Dvd burner DRU-710a

Using Sony branded dvd-r media

Roxio emc 8.05

Will the video play in WMP? Use MYDVD and NOT the DVD Express. How did you edit the Videos? Try putting them in VideoWave, do the edit there and then output to a mpg2 file (film reel icon). Only the areas where you edited will be re-encoded. If the files will not encode after you have done a full uninstall and a full install (with no anti-virus or anti-malware) running, the files are the problem.

Why didn't you buy the plug in? You might download the trial and see if that will burn the files. If not, then the files are corrupt.

 

You mentioned that you updated the firmware for the burner; did you update the video drivers from the card manufacturer (or ATI)?

Thank You for your quick response. Yes, It plays in WMP. I also tried MYDVD and using VIDEOWAVE I could not do it. I originally tried it on 3 videos and it did not work. Today I tried a different movie and It worked. I don't know why it works on 1, but not the rest. They are all Mpeg 2 and recorded with Beyond TV 3. I don't see anything in the videos that would make it stop encoding at a certain spot.

I did a clean install with all un-needed programs closed, including anti-virus program. My video drivers are up to date.

As for the editing, I did not do anything with them after it failed a couple of times. I used MYDVD, VIDEOWAVE, and MYDVD EXPRESS and did not even put in a menu. The attempt today I used DVD EXPRESS. I tried to use videowave today on still another show today and I did not even start encoding the show and it stalled.

The plug-in you mentioned, I'm not sure what you are talking about. What is it and where do I get it? I have had EMC 8 for some time now, but never did much with it, except converting tapes and lp's to cd. I am thankful for your help. Thank You.
